One Book One Nebraska
One Book One Nebraska is an award given out every year to a Nebraska Author or Nebraska based book. The winner of the award is nominated and then chosen by The Nebraska Center for the Book. Someone who lives or have lived in Nebraska must write the books, and the Author can be dead or alive. Another way to be nominated is to have a Nebraska themed book that has a broad appeal to readers across Nebraska.
Joe Starita’s I Am a Man was nominated and chosen as the 2012 One Book One Nebraska award. Because of this, his book is exposed to numerous communities where people come together in community-wide reading programs to study the work of Joe Starita.
